Bologna are keen to keep him at the Stadio Dall’Ara after a fine campaign, but agreeing a fee with the Serie B side for their 50 per cent share is proving problematic.

“There is only a small difference between demand and offer, but I’m surprised by how Bologna are behaving,” Brescia chief Luigi Corioni told Radio Bologna.

“I said they can have him for €5m and they asked me to give them some time to think about it. The difference is minimal…

“I have never gone to a blind auction for a player during my Presidency and it would be stupid if we had to go to the envelopes…”

Bologna bought a half share in the attacking midfielder last summer. The 29-year-old responded with seven goals in 30 games, winning a call-up to Euro 2012 in the process.
