Napoli have still not wrapped up a deal with Lazio defender Modibo Diakite over a Bosman free transfer.

The Azzurri have been in talks with the stopper’s representative given that the Frenchman will leave the capital club at the end of the season.

“We are in negotiations with Napoli,” Ulisse Savini told Radio Sei in an interview. “But there are some problems.

“It’s not a question of money, it is because the Azzurri are deciding a few things at a club level. We are waiting for certain situations to be resolved.”

Diakite has played in just one Coppa Italia game this term after refusing to sign an extension with the Biancocelesti.

“Napoli have offered us more than Lazio,” Savini continued. “The Biancocelesti offered €750,000 plus bonuses, but the Azzurri’s bid is slightly higher.

“However, the problem with Lazio was not about finances as other situations developed.”
