FIGC’s commissioner claims appointing Luigi Di Biagio as Italy’s caretaker CT “was the best choice in the circumstances.”
Di Biagio will lead out Italy for their friendlies against Argentina and England next month, and Roberto Fabbricini is confident the Under-21 boss will “bring enthusiasm back” to the Azzurri.
“Di Biagio’s first task is to bring enthusiasm back, and we’re confident that he will,” he told Premium Sport.

“I think he was the best choice in the circumstances, given we have immediate sporting contingencies to focus on, so for now he’s our CT. After that, we’ll see.
“Can he stay on beyond that? It’s not for me to say. Situations must be examined beyond sporting results, although they’re certainly decisive and important.”
