Juventus captain Alessandro Del Piero has thanked departing boss Luigi Del Neri for his efforts over the last 12 months.
"I was sad to say goodbye to Del Neri in this way because he gave his all and is a man who will always be respected," Del Piero stated. "Unfortunately the results determine choices."

"The results haven't been as we expected," added the captain. "Many things went wrong and we're paying for that.
"The fans are as disappointed as we are. Next year we'll start again thinking about this season, which cannot be repeated.
"Our mistakes will be useful. We should show more enthusiasm, more bite and more heart."
Del Neri is set to be replaced by Siena boss Antonio Conte, a former teammate of Del Piero in Turin.
"I know Antonio well, he was an exceptional player and he's doing a great job as a Coach," continued the World Cup winner.
"I hope he will be able to give a lot to Juventus and stay for the long haul if his appointment is made official."
