The Bluagrana weren’t keen to negotiate with Lazio, but now the De Vrij’s contract is running down they can approach the player directly.
The club has a good relationship with De Vrij’s representatives, as his agent also represents Thomas Vermaelen.
Lazio would prefer to deal with Inter, as the Nerazzurri are thought to be willing to pay a transfer fee to get the defender in January, rather than just signing him on a free transfer.
