The left-back continues to be paired with a switch to Fiorentina, but Andrea D’Amico has told RAI that a transfer is not on the agenda.
“The player earns very well with Zenit,” the representative noted. “Right now Italian football is in great difficulty, it would be hard for him to return to his homeland.”
Criscito, wanted by Napoli in 2012, moved to Russia in the summer of 2011 after Zenit paid €11m to Genoa for him.
The defender, now back in action after knee ligament damage, has won 21 caps for Italy and could be involved in the World Cup next summer.
