Out of a total 31,763 deaths in Italy related to COVID-19, 15,450 were based in Lombardy.
Another 875 people tested positive, 399 of them in Lombardy, but 2,605 throughout the country were told they have made a full recovery.
It means the number of active cases has plunged by another 1,883.
There are 775 patients left in intensive care, a drop of 33, with 392 released from hospital (leaving 10,400) and 59,012 in self-isolation with only minor symptoms (-1,458).
The test results are also promising, because only 1.3 per cent of those checked proved to have coronavirus – 875 cases in 69,179 swabs.
