Inter’s Javier Zanetti is in good sprits following surgery to correct his Achilles tendon injury, notes former teammate Ivan Cordoba.

The Colombian, now a team manager for the Nerazzurri, has underlined that the club captain is already focused on making his comeback.

“The first thing he thinks about is finding a solution to a problem,” Cordoba told Rai Sport. “He's always been like that and that's the way he sees it now.

“Javier, along with my dad, is the most positive person I've ever met. He can't wait to leave the hospital and get on with his rehab!

“He's very calm, he was from the moment it happened in Palermo, even though it hurt a lot.”

Although Zanetti will be sidelined for around six months, the almost 40-year-old will still be an influential figure at the club.

“He'll soon be back at La Pinetina to get behind the lads and to make sure they do well – for him too.  He'd do anything to be close to his teammates and that's good for the team.

“But take it from me, he will play again!”
