Lecce assistant manager Manuel Coppola enjoyed “a great debut” standing in for Fabio Liverani for a 1-1 draw with Juventus.
Liverani was sitting out a touchline ban, so Coppola gave the orders from the dugout at the Stadio Via del Mare.
“It was a great debut for me! We are happy to have picked up a point against the champions of Italy,” the assistant manager told Sky Sport Italia.

“We allowed Juve a few too many chances in the first half, as we lost the ball cheaply playing out from the back and that kept us under constant pressure. I asked the team to push further up so we wouldn’t have Juve always around our penalty area.
“Khouma Babacar, Diego Farias and Gianluca Lapadula really sacrificed themselves for the team by working in defence and we need everyone to do that if we are to secure safety.”
Marco Mancosu stepped up and converted his fourth penalty out of four this season.
“Mancosu is really excellent at penalties. He watches the goalkeeper to the last second and always seems to put it in.”
