Juventus are not planning to renew Alex Sandro’s contract but a clause in his contract could keep him in Turin for another year, reports detail.
The 31-year-old Brazilian defender’s current deal expires with the club at the end of this season and the Bianconeri are preparing to say goodbye, keen to start a new cycle following the recent management overhaul.
Calciomercato.com details how there’s a one-year automatic extension clause present in Alex Sandro’s Juventus contract, tied to certain sporting objectives.
If achieved, his deal would be automatically renewed with the same wages he currently earns, around €6m net per season plus add-ons.
The Brazilian defender has made it clear to the club that he’d be happy to stay, regardless of the clause, and would even agree to lower his wages.
At this stage, Juventus’ plans haven’t changed and they still don’t plan on keeping the 31-year-old, who is left waiting to see what his future holds.
