In Italy there are also growing calls for video evidence to be used during a match situation for handling offences, offsides and off the ball incidents.
“I have always been favourable to using technology in football, but then I am one of many people expressing my opinion,” said CONI President Giovanni Malagò.
“It’s not my decision to make and objectively neither can the Presidents of the Lega Serie A and Federation.
“We’ve got to get on with it, because there’s no point waiting for manna for heaven. I have the sensation that’s not going to arrive.”
