Como have reportedly reached a verbal agreement to sign Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez on loan, after Emiliano Martinez came to Stamford Bridge.
Multiple sources including Fabrizio Romano, The Athletic, and Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio confirm that the deal has been secured.
Sanchez ready for Como adventure
It is expected to be a dry loan, so without an option to buy at the end of the season, and he will have to challenge for his place with current shot-stopper Jean Butez.
He does have an opportunity to play in the Champions League, where Como managed to qualify after snatching fourth place from under the noses of Milan and Juventus last season.
The Spanish goalkeeper turns 29 in November and had been first choice for Chelsea last term, making 50 competitive appearances for the club, albeit keeping only 15 clean sheets.
However, he was pushed down the pecking order by the arrival of Emiliano Martinez from Aston Villa, and had also been linked with a possible move to Tottenham Hotspur.
Meanwhile, Como have officially loaned goalkeeper Noel Tornqvist to Serie A side Monza for this season, making room for Sanchez.
