Stefano Colantuono dedicated Atalanta’s 4-3 victory over Inter to Ivan Ruggeri, praising their belief after fighting back from 3-1 down.

“We made an enormous step forward towards safety, even if we aren’t there yet,” the Coach told Mediaset.

“This season we achieved two great wins over Inter, so we can feel more confident when preparing for the game with Fiorentina. Of course, we dedicate the victory to ex-President Ruggeri.”

The former Atalanta patron died on Saturday after five years in a coma.

“The game ends when the referee blows the whistle. It’s true that going 3-1 down might’ve felled any team, but we got straight back into it and did well not to get discouraged. We deserved this win.”

There was a brawl after the final whistle between Ezequiel Schelotto and his former Atalanta teammates, particularly Cristian Raimondi and Luca Cigarini.

“These things can happen at the end of a game. I don’t know what caused it exactly, but perhaps there was something going back a while.”
