Roma won’t release Emerson for less than €20-25m, which still makes him a far cheaper – and younger – alternative compared to Chelsea’s first choice, Alex Sandro of Juventus.
He is just recovering from a torn anterior cruciate ligament in May 2017 and has made only two appearances so far this season.
They were one full Coppa Italia game and a 15-minute cameo in Serie A.
Liverpool, Newcastle United and Juventus have all been linked with Emerson Palmieri.
