Edinson Cavani and Ezequiel Lavezzi urge Napoli to adopt “the same spirit” against Chelsea after thrashing Fiorentina 3-0.
The Partenopei conquered Florence last night thanks to a Cavani brace and late Lavezzi strike, allowing them to leapfrog Inter into fifth place.
On Tuesday they welcome Chelsea to the San Paolo in the first leg of their Champions League Round of 16 tie.
“We are on the right track and have to continue playing this way,” said Cavani after the win over Fiorentina.
“As for Chelsea, football can be strange and anything can happen. We saw that in our previous European games, so the important thing is to maintain the same spirit for this very hotly-awaited encounter.”
Lavezzi took to Twitter in order to express his joy after the victory in Florence.
“It was an important victory and I’m happy to have scored a goal too. We’re fired up for Tuesday!”
