Mattia Cassani is confident that the change in system will not negatively affect Italy in tonight’s Brazil 2014 qualifier against Malta.

The Azzurri started with a 3-5-2 in the draw with Bulgaria on Friday, but Coach Cesare Prandelli has confirmed that they will revert to a 4-3-1-2 in Modena.

“We’ll be changing our shape, but we have used it in the past and I don’t think we’ll have any particular problems,” said the Fiorentina man.

“The 2-2 Bulgaria game? We will make up for that draw in Sofia with a great performance and an important result.”

Cassani is set to be brought into the starting XI, but he admits that his side may have to be patient against Tuesday’s opponents.

“Malta will sit back, but our qualities will come out as the game goes on,” he added.

“My return to the fold? I’ve been in the national squad for some time and I’m keeping a tight grip on the Azzurri shirt.”

Cassani didn’t make Euro 2012 after struggling with fitness and form in Tuscany last season.
