The minnows from the province of Modena had never even been in Serie B before 2013-14, but they secured automatic promotion four rounds early.
“When we started out in pre-season training, even we wouldn’t have bet on ourselves for promotion. We basically thought it would’ve been an achievement to not get relegated,” Bianco told Sky Sport Italia.
“Today we achieved something truly unique. In the first half of the campaign nobody knew us, so we ran riot through the other teams. In the second half we showed the right level of maturity.
“We won the first half of the season with our attack and the second half with our defence.”
Bianco was asked which game he is particularly looking forward to in Serie A.
“Against Napoli at the San Paolo. I’d play on one leg just to be there.”
