Sassuolo director Giovanni Carnevali admits they have ‘some proposals for our players’ that they are prepared to discuss, but insists they haven’t spoken to Juventus about any of them yet.
The two clubs face off this evening at the Mapei Stadium in Serie A.
It kicks off at 19.45 UK time (18.45 GMT). You can follow all the build-up and action as it happens on the LIVEBLOG.
“It is an important match for us, because every time we play against sides of this level, we see how we’re doing and where we still need to improve. The objective is to continue improving our position in the table, certainly to be in the top half and try to leapfrog Verona,” Carnevali told Sky Sport Italia.
“It’s also difficult, as we need to look over our shoulders at Torino, but the aim is always to surpass our limitations.”
It is no secret that Juve are among the clubs interested in Sassuolo’s young talents, above all Giacomo Raspadori and Davide Frattesi, while Inter and Milan push for Gianluca Scamacca, Fiorentina and Napoli have approached Domenico Berardi and Hamed Traore.
“There’s no point denying we have some proposals for our players, but we are hoping to maintain many of them and keep the work going that we’ve done over the years. We will evaluate the best scenarios both for the players and for us.
“We have a good rapport with Juventus, so we are open to discussing with them if they are interested in our players, but we haven’t done that yet.”
