Sassuolo CEO Giovanni Carnevali believes ‘the salary problem is relative’ and claims football is going through the same crisis as any other business.
The forced break has a massive impact on the revenue in Serie A and the Neroverdi director underlines the situation is similar to the other companies suffering during the current lockdown.
“The situation in the football world is the same as the one of companies in difficulty,” he told Sky Sport Italia. “It’s a situation for the clubs. The salary problem is relative.

“We face a different world. A correct downsizing can only do us well.”
Carnevali supports the decision to suspend football and will follow the directions given by the Federation but hopes to avoid going beyond July.
“It was correct to stop football. We shouldn’t go beyond late July,” he added. “We will follow the guidelines of the League, the ones who can, should contribute to the system.”
