There are reports Inter have already ended their 15-day trial with John Carew after he failed a medical, though his agent insists there are “no problems.”

The 33-year-old striker has not played in eight months, as he effectively retired after leaving West Ham last summer.

He flew in for a 15-day trial with an eye towards a short-term contract to fill in for the injured Diego Milito.

He flew in for a 15-day trial with an eye towards a short-term contract to fill in for the injured Diego Milito.

However, it’s reported Carew failed fitness tests and will not even begin training with the Nerazzurri.

After all, he had tweeted to an Aston Villa fan on January 30 that he’d love to return, “but won’t be match fit until May… :/”

Agent Per Arne Flod insisted to Calciomercato.it that there was nothing wrong with Carew’s physique.

“John is physically fine, he has no injuries and the first tests showed no type of problem with his physical structure.

“Clearly, having been out for eight months, he might lack match fitness. He is ready to give his all. He is an experienced player and, if given the opportunity, will prove all his worth.”
