Fabio Capello identifies Milan Coach Sinisa Mihajlovic as his heir: 'But he doesn't need an iron fist'.

The former Russia Coach started his long career as a tactician with the Rossoneri, and had no problems in admitting to a similarity between himself and Mihajlovic.

“Absolutely, he's the Coach in whose work I truly recognise myself, at least in Italy,” he told Il Corriere della Sera.

“Some time ago we met in Dubai, when Sinisa was at the head of Serbia, and he discussed some of his ideas about football.

“They match mine in many ways.

“If you consider that the results under the previous managements weren't very exciting, I think a new turn was called for.

“Sinisa asks for professionalism and effort, and it's only fair that when someone makes a mistake they should examine themselves.”

Capello, however, disagreed with those who characterised the Serbian as excessively harsh.

“Mihajlovic only wants seriousness and respect. There are people out there who wake up at six in the morning to go into a factory, while we work three hours a day.

“He demands an athlete's life, punctuality in training and a civil behaviour when you're being replaced on the pitch.

“Having an iron fist is something else entirely.”
