World Cup and Ballon d’Or winner Fabio Cannavaro kept his pledge to cycle all the way from Rome to Naples if his hometown club Napoli won the Scudetto, travelling 254km.
The defender was born and raised in Naples and represented the club, as did his younger brother Paolo, before moving on to Parma, Inter, Juventus and Real Madrid.
Now 49, he remains a committed fan of the Partenopei and had pledged to cycle all the way from Rome to Naples if the team won the Serie A title after a 33-year wait.
When Luciano Spalletti and his men achieved that aim, Cannavaro had to stand by his word, travelling 254km with a group of friends in a journey that took six hours and 55 minutes.
It is safe to say that retirement from a playing career does not mean Cannavaro is letting his fitness levels go if he was able to undertake such a journey.
