Antonio Candreva is keeping his fingers crossed that he will be signed outright by Lazio this summer.
The Udinese-owned player started the season on loan at Cesena, but moved to the Italian capital at the beginning of 2012. Now he wants to stay.
“I’d like to remain,” he told Sky Sport Italia. “Over the last few years I have changed a lot of clubs and I need a bit of consistency.
“The right solution would be to stay at Lazio. I had a few problems at the start, but I was able to get over them thanks to the Coach and my teammates.”
Candreva, initially jeered given the claim that he was a Roma fan as a boy, scored three goals in 15 League games for the outfit.
The former Livorno creator, 25, has also had temporary spells at Juventus and Parma in recent seasons.
Candreva is an Italian international thanks to his two caps and he’s hoping to get back into the Giro Azzurro with Lazio’s help.
“I do think about the national side, although I wasn’t disappointed to not be a part of Euro 2012,” he added. “I need to show that I deserve to be part of that set-up again.”
