Carpi President Claudio Caliumi discusses the return of Fabrizio Castori – “sometimes you make the wrong choices.”
The Biancorossi dismissed the Coach at the end of September, with Beppe Sannino replacing him, but Castori was yesterday reinstated after just five games.
“I’d personally like to thank both Sannino and [sporting director Sean] Sogliano for the work they’ve done, but we’ve decided to go back to basics,” Caliumi told Tuttomercatoweb.
“Sometimes you make wrong choices. The mistake the directors made was to get rid of Castori, though they did it for the good of the club.
“Sometimes you can fix things, sometimes you can’t. I say this with no controversy, and once again thank them for their work.
“The fans backed Castori? That’s normal, they’ve always loved him, they’re connected to Castori as a person as well as a Coach.”
Carpi face an Emilian derby with Sassuolo on Sunday, and Caliumi acknowledges it will be a difficult match.
“It will be a very difficult game. Sassuolo are a good team, and we know that anything can happen in a derby.
“It will be a difficult game for us, but we’re confident.”
