The Turkey international has flourished since the move to a 4-2-3-1 formation, after years of not quite being able to find his form at San Siro.

“I am happy. We played many games with this system and this position, so it’s how I wanted to play,” Calhanoglu told DAZN.

“I am happy. We played many games with this system and this position, so it’s how I wanted to play,” Calhanoglu told DAZN.

“We were tired, but showed our heart and mentality, because Bologna always play one-on-one and it wasn’t easy. We pressed high, created many chances and scored the goals to win it.”

Calhanoglu also made a clear statement to the club, who are in negotiations to bring in Ralf Rangnick for next season.

“Pioli lets me play the way I want to, he talks to me off the field too and helped me a lot. I can say that I play for him too, because he is a very, very important person for me and everyone in the team.

“We’re really lucky to have a coach like this working with us.”
