It is a busy day for Inter in the transfer market, as Borussia Dortmund reportedly prepare a final bid for Andrea Ranocchia.
The German side have been desperate for defensive cover after they have seen first-choice defenders Neven Subotic, Lukasz Piszczek and even Mats Hummels being forced out through injury.
Last year’s Champions League finalists signed 34-year old free-agent Manuel Friedrich last November, but are seen as hoping to draft in a more long-term solution in the form of Ranocchia.
The Italian defender hasn’t had the best of seasons for Inter, and has started just one of the Nerazzurri’s last five games. He is a player that the club are believed ready to let go this January.
Sky Sport Italia reporter Gianluca Di Marzio states that Dortmund will make a final improved bid for Ranocchia, after previously seeing a reputed €7m offer turned down.
Inter had accepted a €13m offer from Zenit St. Petersburg for the 25-year old last summer, but the player rejected the move.
This time, however, Ranocchia is seen as open to a move out to the Bundesliga.
