Sinisa Mihajlovic was sacked this week and Brocchi promoted from the Primavera youth team job.
“In the squad we have players who are suited to 4-3-1-2 and I’m convinced we can use this system. If Mihajlovic abandoned that approach, I’m sure he had his reasons.
“My job is not easy, as it’s difficult to change, but I do not intend to transform everything in just a few days. I spoke individually to all the players. At the start there was some sadness in some of them for Sinisa’s exit, but I want to get into their minds, create an empathic connection and make them believe in my project.
“I am bringing my methodology, which I studied over the years. Over the last few days we introduced in training some new exercises that have several different objectives.
“The drone is a very valid instrument that really helped us at Primavera level. It means straight after the session you can show the players what didn’t work.”
President Silvio Berlusconi is expected to arrive at the Milanello training ground today to give his support, having personally chosen Brocchi.
“I am very happy he is coming here today. In my life I always put a lot of stock in the exchange of ideas. I like to hear many different opinions.”
