Benevento hero Alberto Brignoli claims his goal against Milan “flashed before me” and that Gennaro Gattuso was ‘gutted’ by his exploits.
Brignoli earned Benevento their first-ever point on Sunday, thanks to his last-gasp equaliser in their 2-2 draw with Milan, and the goalkeeper admits he is still coming to terms with becoming an overnight celebrity.
“I can’t tell you how many messages I’ve received,” the Juventus loanee told Radio 105.

“I can’t tell you how many messages I’ve received,” the Juventus loanee told Radio 105.
“Yesterday, before the game, I had 5,000, 6,000 followers on Instagram. Now I have 31,000, 32,000.
“When I was about to enter [Milan’s] box, the goal I would score flashed before me, 10 seconds before I scored.
“It was like I was playing on a PlayStation. I saw it first in my head and then it came off.
“I didn’t even see the ball go in because I was looking in the opposite direction. I scored with the back of my head.
“Gattuso? Well, he was gutted. It did happen in the 95th minute… I’m sorry for Donnarumma as I’m a goalkeeper too.
“One day I’ll tell my children that I scored against them. In 10 years, we’ll talk about Gigio like we do about Buffon, who’s my colleague in a way.
“Perhaps colleague is exaggerated, but I trained most with him during the summer because I belong to Juventus. Will I change position? No, I can’t run!
“President Vigorito? I saw him crying in the dressing room. Maybe he won’t like me saying that because it happened behind closed doors, but it doesn’t matter.
“It’s the first time that I’ve found a President who speaks to us like an old head and not a boss.”
