At the expense of Parma, who last season failed to gain a UEFA Licence, the Granata are counting down the days to a first season in European football for 20 years.

It begins in the two-legged Third qualifying round against Brommapojkarna this coming Thursday.

Whilst there is then the prospect of navigating the Play-off round after that, one of the club’s number is determined that the team make it.

“We have been working for a month just to overcome this hurdle, we want to go through at any cost,” Bovo has told UEFA’s official website today.

“We know it won't be easy but we know it is vital for us to qualify for the group stage.

“We know that our opponents play with a high tempo and intensity, but we want to do well, we are self-confident and we won't underestimate them.”

Bovo was asked how well attuned he and his teammates are to their Swedish opponents.

“Pontus Jansson is Swedish but he couldn't tell me many things about Brommapojkarna because he doesn't speak Italian very well and I'm not fluent in English.

“But I know Torino very well, and I can say that with the experienced players that we have, like [Antonio] Nocerino, [Fabio] Quagliarella and [Cristian] Molinaro, we can finally do well.”
