The Gazzetta dello Sport suggest that Marco Borriello has new admirers this winter in the form of Inter.
The Nerazzurri have indicated a willingness to dip into the midseason market to strengthen their front-line, amid limited options during Mauro Icardi and Diego Milito’s struggles with fitness.
On from links with Pablo Daniel Osvaldo earlier this week, it is former Milan, Juventus, Genoa and current Roma forward Borriello that has been listed today as a possible target.
It is understood that whilst the player’s salary of €2.7m presents an area for negotiation on any possible loan bid, and that at 31 he does not fit into La Beneamata’s perceived focus on youth, he has been identified as an ideal short-term option.
Borriello has previously worked with Inter Coach Walter Mazzarri, during the 2004-05 season at Reggina.
Sky Sport Italia, meanwhile, suggest Fiorentina are also looking at the forward.
