Fabio Borini’s agent thanked Inter director Piero Ausilio for praising the Liverpool striker and confirmed a summer offer.
Ausilio confessed in Tuttosport that he admired Borini and tried to tempt him to San Siro a few months ago, but Liverpool would only part with him for a large sum of money.
“That admiration makes us happy and proud,” agent Marco De Marchi told Tuttomercatoweb.
“Of course I was aware of it and the interest in the player, but it’s pleasing that Ausilio is stating that publicly.
“I knew that Inter and other clubs were interested this summer, but for me Fabio is a top class player and it’s only right he try to find space at Liverpool.
“He left Roma by mutual consent two years ago, leaving a fine project to join one of the most important clubs in the world.
“He got injured, rushed to be fit for Italy’s European Under-21 Championship appearance and took them to the Final, then went to Sunderland to play regularly.
“It was a step backwards, but he was decisive there and it’s obvious he will now seek to at least find some space at Liverpool.”
