Liverpool striker Fabio Borini’s agent opened the door to Napoli and Milan as Mario Balotelli undergoes a medical.
This is a very busy day for the Reds, who welcomed Balotelli for his medical this evening after agreeing a £16m (€20m) transfer fee with Milan.
It has been reported Borini could be a replacement, although Napoli are also interested in the ex-Roma forward.
“I am accustomed to working on concrete issues and at this moment I can say we’re talking about speculation,” agent Marco Antonio De Marchi told Radio Crc.
“Then, we can discuss Fabio’s extraordinary qualities. Over the last year he has matured completely and any Coach will struggle to keep him on the sidelines.
“Now he is relaxed, at Liverpool’s disposal and even if the attack is a little crowded, he will be able to earn his place.
“No Italian club has contacted me yet. Around 20 days ago Sunderland made an important offer to Liverpool worth around €18m.
“Balotelli is an extraordinary player and a unique talent, but Fabio left a wonderful project at Roma for Liverpool. In his first year he wasn’t able to prove himself due to injuries, first to his foot and then the shoulder.
“He has another two years on his contract with Liverpool and we do not consider his future to be an issue right now.”
Nonetheless, the agent left the door open if a call from Napoli should arrive.
“Napoli is a fantastic club, but I have never spoken to Fabio about this because they never called me. If Napoli did call? I am accustomed to listening to everyone, but that doesn’t mean I’ll accept any proposal.”
