“It’s hard to make people believe they’ll win something when they sell Alisson,” Boniek told Corriere dello Sport.
“The Americans control Roma’s accounts first and foremost, and by their own admission they’ll never grow without a stadium they own.
“The fans therefore have to settle for nights like against Barcelona, a collective ecstasy in which I also participated.
“It was one moment though.”
Boniek also played for Juventus, and was asked for his thoughts on the Cristiano Ronaldo transfer.
“Juve have won the bingo with him. They know how to weigh things up in Turin, and Ronaldo is part of the project to make the brand international.
“He’s not a cost but a profit, he pays for himself. An exceptional coup.
“I’ll tell you something: Juve-Frosinone and Empoli-Juve… who would watch those? Now with Ronaldo those games will even sell abroad.”
