Atalanta playmaker Giacomo Bonaventura has admitted he is still harbouring ambitions of playing in the World Cup.

The 24-year-old has just a solitary cap for the Azzurri, but after impressing for La Dea this term, the trequartista has conceded that he wants to impress Cesare Prandelli before the end of the season.

“Have I booked my holidays yet? No, I haven’t made any plans for the summer!” he told reporters.

“It’s up to me to do well. I want to be one of the best midfielders in Italy.

“But it’s entirely down to me to try and impress Mr. Prandelli.”
