Pierpaolo Bisoli is a contender to replace Alberto Malesani at Bologna if the latter leaves at the end of the season.

Malesani has resurrected his coaching career at the Dall'Ara and there are reports that he could move on during the summer.

Said to be unconvinced by the project put forward by Bologna, Malesani has been associated with Genoa.

As a result Bologna are already looking at possible replacements and Bisoli is, at this stage, a real candidate.

Bisoli is currently out of work after he was dismissed by Cagliari in November 2010 after successive defeats to Napoli and Genoa.

Despite that sacking, which occurred just months after his arrival in Sardinia, Bisoli is well respected after his achievements with Cesena.

Hired by the Sea Horses in 2008, he led them to double promotion – firstly to Serie B and then Serie A.
