The Rossoblu would be bottom of the table if it weren’t for Siena’s six-point penalty, scraping together only two wins, two draws and eight defeats.
“The situation is serious, but not compromised,” Guaraldi told the Corriere dello Sport.
“Not talking to the media doesn’t mean we are distant from the squad, nor running away from our commitments.
“It’s true that the choices we made in the summer are not giving the results we hoped for. It’s not true that Bologna didn’t spend money, as we kept Alessandro Diamanti, signed Alberto Gilardino in a loan deal we are discussing with Genoa and made other investments.
“If necessary, we will make more investments in January, based on the budget and the requests from the Coach.”
Pioli is one of the current Serie A tacticians thought to be at risk after a series of poor results.
“He has my utmost faith, both as a man and as a Coach. We can only emerge from this difficult period by staying united.
“Last season firing Pierpaolo Bisoli was very painful, but there was no longer the cohesion needed between the players and their Coach. This year I do not see that situation. We will soon see the light at the end of the tunnel.
“I understand the criticism towards me and the club, but you don’t get points with insults and offensive comments.
“It is also not true that we are in financial difficulties. We already paid one month’s wages early and on Monday paid another two when the deadline should’ve been November 16. There is the money to get to the end of the season.”
