Two-goal hero Riccardo Bocalon says Alessandria “realised a dream” by reaching the Coppa Italia semi-finals.
The Lega Pro side were trailing Serie B outfit Spezia 1-0 with just seven minutes left to play, but Bocalon’s double after coming off the bench put them through to face Milan.
That makes the Grigi the first team from Italy’s third tier to play in the semi-finals of the competition since Bari in 1984.

“We’ve realised a dream,” Bocalon told Rai after the final whistle.
“We’re in the semi-finals and we don’t want to stop. The priority is still the League, but we were coming off a bad performance [losing 3-0 at FeralpiSalò] and wanted to make up for it at all costs.
“We always believed, and just tried to play as we know we can. This win is dedicated to our fans.
“That’s the beauty of football, it always give you a chance to bounce back.
“On Saturday we lost badly in Salò, now we’re in the Coppa Italia semi-finals.”
