Besiktas claim they can buy Germany international Mario Gomez from Fiorentina permanently for “just €1,000.”
The striker turns 31 this summer and has rediscovered his scoring touch in Turkey, netting 21 goals in 34 competitive games.
“If Mario Gomez decides during the month of April that he wants to continue playing for Besiktas, then we have to pay Fiorentina just €1,000,” general manager Ahmet Nur Cebi told German newspaper Bild.

The Viola paid €15.5m to sign him from Bayern Munich in July 2013, but poor form and a run of injuries meant he barely made an impact.
While the Tuscans don’t want Gomez back, they would prefer to see considerably more cash from his disappointing spell at the club.
As part of the deal, Fiorentina would be owed 35 per cent of any future resale, but at his age it remains to be seen how much that would amount to.
