The Italian international has been impressing for the Bianconeri this season, and appears to have won the trust of Allegri, a fellow Tuscan.
“I have a wonderful relationship with the boss,” Bernardeschi explained to Tuttosport.
“He bent my ear a bit yesterday because I didn’t pass two balls in the second half [against Young Boys]… but I feel very comfortable with him.
“When he gets angry he makes himself heard and understood, even if the foreigners struggle with Tuscan a little bit! But he talks in English too.
“My form? It’s a result of evolution, but it was two or three years ago that I made a real leap in quality, on a mental level above all.
“As for my role models, I really liked [Andriy] Shevchenko, then the Italian number 10s from [Roberto] Baggio to [Alex] Del Piero to [Francesco] Totti. It was beautiful to see them play.
“And it was nice seeing [Luca] Toni, [Adrian] Mutu, and [Stevan] Jovetic playing when I was a ball boy in Florence.”
Bernardeschi was also asked about playing with Mario Mandzukic, the imposing Croatian striker.
“Mario looks like a bear, but in reality he laughs and jokes with everyone. On the pitch though he’s pretty tough though…”
One big departure this summer was that of Gianluigi Buffon.
“A man of great character has left, someone who made history with this club,” Bernardeschi acknowledged.
“All you can do is thank him for what he left the club and the players. Now [Giorgio] Chiellini transmits his ideas and his way of being captain.”
