Dimitar Berbatov’s agent said the Manchester United star’s future “will be decided over the next few days” amid interest from Fiorentina.

The 31-year-old Premier League veteran has been pushed down the pecking order at Old Trafford and the links with a Serie A switch have been going for several weeks.

“I don’t know what news is coming from the papers, but I always try not to give them excessive credence,” agent Emil Dantchev told Il Sussidiario.

“Are Fiorentina and Inter looking at him? I don’t know, if you want to know that then you had better ask them.

“The only thing I feel ready to say right now is that his future will be decided over the next few days.”

The transfer session closes on Friday and it is reported in Italy that Berbatov would be available for €5m with a three-year Fiorentina contract waiting to be signed.

Last week Viola President Andrea Della Valle told journalists he would sign a top class striker to reinforce the side whose name starts with a B.
