The Partenopei dropped down from the Champions League despite notching up 12 points, identical to the records of Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund.
They picked Swansea in the draw for the Round of 32 and Benitez took to his official website to explain the Welsh side to the local fans.
“For anybody who does not follow the Premier League I will say that Swansea are a football team with a game based on possession and like to play putting the ball on the ground, continuously making triangulations in attack.
“Plus, they have players as Michu who was a revelation in the previous season of the Premier League and together with football players such as De Guzman, Pablo Hernández, Dyer, Rangel, Chico… to name only a few, form a side that plays with great intensity, as is required there.
“In addition, this year they have incorporated Bony as a striker and in midfield Shelvey, among others, to give a greater consistency to the group.
“They will not be an easy opponent and we have perform to the highest standard if we are to progress in the competition – this is our goal.
“We will prepare the squad for this and will give the best of ourselves to keep moving forward. Meanwhile, and as always, Forza Napoli!!!”
