Italy have been handed a boost with the news that Andrea Barzagli is back training with the main group, after a calf strain.
The Juventus stopper was hit with the injury in the week preceding Euro 2012’s kick-off, but was included in the final 23-man squad after medics ruled that he could be fit by the team’s final group game.

The Juventus stopper was hit with the injury in the week preceding Euro 2012’s kick-off, but was included in the final 23-man squad after medics ruled that he could be fit by the team’s final group game.
That is on course to come true, as reports say that the 31-year-old rejoined his teammates for today’s training session, suggestive that he is now set to be fit for Monday’s match with the Republic of Ireland in Poznan.
Most of the workout in today’s training was held behind closed doors, but it is understood that for Croatia on Thursday, Cesare Prandelli is likely to again field the same back-line defensive trio of Daniele De Rossi flanked by Leonardo Bonucci and Giorgio Chiellini that faced Spain.
