Franco Baresi says Gigio Donnarumma ‘must stay’ and reveals why Stefano Pioli’s side makes him think of Arrigo Sacchi’s Milan.
The contract of the Italian goalkeeper runs until June and talks with his agent Mino Raiola are ongoing.
"Gigio is our product. Raised by us, as true milanista. He must make his choices with serenity and be happy with what he chooses,” Milan’s honorary Vice-President told Sky Sport.
Baresi spent his whole career at the club.

“I don’t regret my choices. Gigio has to think about where he is, at Milan, one of the most successful clubs in the world. He has to think about where he is, in the team of his heart.”
The Rossoneri have only one defeat in all competitions so far this season and sit on top of the Serie A table.
"The team is collecting the work and dedication of these years, even if the results were not good,” said Baresi.
“After the lockdown something happened inside the players. They have proven to have those qualities necessary to be able to compete.
“There is the awareness of being able to compete with everyone and [Stefano] Pioli was good at stimulating the players and find a system capable of involving everyone.
“Players are comfortable and can finally express themselves for what they are. Milan must always think big.
“This Milan side make me think of the first Milan of [Arrigo] Sacchi. No one thought we could reach that goal," Baresi said.
“Instead, slowly and with dedication and conviction, you can do unexpected things. Milan must have courage and think big. We know he can play with everyone.”
