Balotelli and Osvaldo formed the front two with support from Montolivo in a trequartista role.
The rest of the midfield was completed by Andrea Pirlo, Daniele De Rossi and Claudio Marchisio.
Both De Rossi and Osvaldo are expected to start against Brazil, as they are suspended for the World Cup qualifier in Malta next week.
Giorgio Chiellini is still training separately due to ankle problems, so the defence was made up of Leonardo Bonucci, Andrea Barzagli, Christian Maggio and Mattia De Sciglio.
It would be a great coup for Milan’s 20-year-old De Sciglio to start when making his senior Italy debut.
The Azzurri will have another training session on Wednesday morning before flying out to Geneva from Florence in the afternoon.
At that point a decision will be made on whether to bring along Giorgio Chiellini or let him leave the Italy camp.
Italy probable: Buffon; Maggio, Bonucci, Barzagli, De Sciglio; De Rossi, Pirlo, Marchisio; Montolivo; Osvaldo, Balotelli
