New Milan signing Mario Balotelli says ‘I have a promise to keep with myself’ upon his return to San Siro.
The striker completed a move from Liverpool yesterday only a year after departing the Rossoneri, and spoke of his gratefulness at being awarded a second chance.
“I have a promise to keep with myself, my family, Milan, Mihajlovic, Raiola and everyone who loves me….I’m starting again from scratch,” he said to Gazzetta dello Sport.

“I have a promise to keep with myself, my family, Milan, Mihajlovic, Raiola and everyone who loves me….I’m starting again from scratch,” he said to Gazzetta dello Sport.
“I know that I can’t make any more mistakes, I can’t make any demands and I must convince everyone all over again.
“I’ve put myself at their disposition. I accept every rule. I will have space if I deserve it.
“But I’ve not forgotten how to play football. I’ve come back full of energy, with a desire to work and enthusiasm. My own match is not over yet.
“I’m 25 now, I’m not a baby anymore. I’ve already thrown away too many chances.
“Then there’s life, which you can’t plan and it’s that which changes you. These are the situations which make you mature.
“The return to Milan came spontaneously. Mino told me on Saturday: ‘get your bags and take a private jet, you’re going back to Milan'.
“There wasn’t any need for a private jet, I took a commercial flight and returned.
“I knew that I would find another team, because I’m not finished. But I’m grateful to Milan because, and I tell the truth, I didn’t expect that they would take me back, turning to me again.
“To come back here is a dream come true, it’s a second chance that so many don’t get.”
