Stefano Colantuono admits tomorrow’s trip to Siena is “one of the most important games of the season” for Atalanta.
The Orobici are still without ex-Napoli midfielder Luca Cigarini due to an injury, as he has been ruled out since late January.
“Cigarini is an important player and we really miss him, especially with our style of football. It’s clear his absence is sorely felt,” said the Coach.
“He is recovering and we hope to have him back with us next week. It’s too early to say what line-up we will use in Siena.
“Marko Livaja has to continue like this and improve his movement off the ball, but logically he’ll get better the more he plays.”
Riccardo Cazzola and Matteo Contini sit out bans, while Lionel Scaloni, Daniele Capelli, Giampaolo Bellini and Guido Marilungo are injured.
“It will be one of the most important games of the season, but not the only one. There is a tough campaign ahead of us.
“This year Atalanta have lost points due to distractions and bad luck, so we must be concentrated and understand we can never drop that adrenaline level in the race for results.
“We’re fighting it out for safety with many different clubs and have to collect 41 points as soon as possible.”
