Daniele Arrigoni admits Cesena “basically did not step on the pitch” when crushed 5-1 by Roma this evening.
The Sea Horses were already 3-0 down after nine minutes and barely had a shot on target other than Eder’s solo effort.
“It looked as if we basically did not step on to the pitch. I don’t know what to think, as we were coming off a super performance against Novara,” sighed the Coach.
“We knew that this was a tough game, but we made it far too easy for Roma. Adrian Mutu felt tense and realised he was not giving the right contribution to the team. He asked to be substituted at half-time and I agreed.”
Cesena are working on the January transfer market, but Arrigoni wants a smaller squad rather than reinforcements.
“I have many players and someone has to go, as there are too many of us now. The rest depends on how certain issues develop.
“We don’t want to make judgements after a performance like this, as it was too bad to be true. I can’t give myself answers on how this happened.”
