Napoli have confirmed that they will extend the contract of defender Salvatore Aronica. “It’s just a matter of time.”
The stopper is only tied to the outfit until June which means he could leave the club on a Bosman transfer.
However, Napoli sporting director Riccardo Bigon has told Radio Marte that the player – linked with Palermo – will remain.
“We are sorting out the last few details,” Bigon noted. “We may take a bit longer than other clubs to extend contracts, but we always keep our word.”
It’s expected that Aronica will put pen to paper on a deal until June 2013, with an option for another 12 months.
The 33-year-old has made 16 appearances in Serie A so far this season.
