New Atalanta signing Guilherme Arana feels “happy now at a great club, whereas at Sevilla I’d fallen into a depression.”
The 22-year-old left-back arrived on loan for €1m with option to buy for a further €8m at the end of the season.
“I am trying to turn over a new leaf with a new club,” the Brazilian told Eldesmarque.
“With the little I’ve experienced of it so far, I already think that I’ll adapt better. I was given a very warm welcome and I’m enjoying the moment.

“I fell into a depression at Sevilla, because I am 22 years old and I wanted to play. I was going crazy just sitting there and realised it wasn’t going to change.
“I’d lay in bed and wonder why it wasn’t working. I talked to my family and that period helped me to mature, but it was so difficult because Sevilla’s philosophy of football and training methods were very different to what I was used to. They focus much more on defending.
“Atalanta is a great club and now I feel happy.”
