Walter Sabatini assured next week Bayern Munich will “see another Roma and another result.”
The Giallorossi lost 7-1 at the Stadio Olimpico and visit the Germans in the Champions League for the return match.
“If you look carefully, the only game we played badly this season was against Bayern,” director of sport Sabatini told Sky Sport Italia.
“Fortunately we will get to replay this match again in a few days. We will go to Munich in order to play our football. You will see another Roma and another result.”
Morgan De Sanctis was surprisingly dropped to the bench for tonight’s Serie A tie with Cesena, putting Lukasz Skorupski in goal.
“It is understandable, as this lad needs playing time and De Sanctis could do with a break.”
Before kick-off, De Sanctis presented flowers to the wife of Stefano De Amicis. He was a steward at the Stadio Olimpico who died in a car crash along with their seven-year-old son after the Bayern game.
“We will not leave the family alone,” promised Sabatini. “I wish to thank all the other fans who sent messages.”
There were many banners around Serie A for the family, including from Roma’s arch rivals such as Lazio.
